The primary objective of the Visit London Images library is to provide relevant, high quality images of London and London life to colleagues working in the travel trade and for the travel trade press. Access is also provided to Visit London's strategic partners, government, charities and commercial organisations.

Do I have to pay for images from Visit London Images?
For Visit London staff, those working on behalf of Visit London , strategic partners, and the travel trade press, if the copyright to the images you have selected is owned by Visit London, they will be provided free of charge. Collaboration images (i.e. images whose copyright belongs outside Visit London) will carry reproduction charges for these user groups.

If you are working in the travel trade, for the government, charities & education or on a non tourism-related project, charges will be applicable for all Visit London and collaboration imagery.

Collaboration images are denoted on the screen in red by the wording 'Collaboration Fees Apply'.

Are any images available free of charge?
Yes. To celebrate the relaunch of Visit London Images, the new photo library for Visit London, we are offering a gallery of 150 images free of charge to travel trade organisations. Images that are to be used for layout purposes only are also free of charge (and will therefore carry a watermark, preventing illegal reproduction).

To access the free travel trade images, click on the Travel Trade Gallery from the 'Galleries' drop down menu at the top of the page and add any desired shots to your basket in the usual way. When you come to check out, if you belong to one of the qualifying user groups, the cost calculator will ensure your images carry no charge.

All images whose copyright is owned by Visit London are offered free of charge to Visit London staff, those working on behalf of Visit London, partners and the travel trade press.

Note that users from government, charities & education enjoy a 15% discount on all purchases.

How do I calculate how much my chosen images will cost?
If you have selected images that carry associated charges, the actual price of reproducing the images depends on the nature of your work/project, the type of publication, print run, size on page and rights required. You can calculate the cost of your chosen images either a) as you browse preview images or b) by clicking into your shopping basket.  

When you complete an order from your shopping basket you will be asked to declare which user group you belong to from the drop down menu. Next select 'Proceed with Order'. A new window will now appear, displaying each of your images and confirming - in red - whether charges do or do not apply.

If 'You need to calculate the price for this image' appears against an image in your basket, click the 'Calculate Price' button and answer the series of questions that will then automatically appear relating to type of publication, print run, rights, size on the page and/or insertions.  The information you give will determine what, if any, fees would be due upon reproduction of the images.

Once you have given the relevant information a price will be displayed. (All prices are exclusive of V.A.T.). Remember: the prices shown are advisory only and will not automatically appear on an invoice. You must confirm usage with Visit London Images prior to reproduction to ascertain final charges. Failure to confirm usage will result in an invoice being sent, if applicable, for the total amount advised in your order.

Click on 'Save Price'.  Note that prices advised during the order process are also confirmed via email.

Are there any additional charges for images from Visit London Images?
A minimum £25.00 (excl.V.A.T.) administration charge will apply to all non-web searches. Delivery charges will also be applied as appropriate to the method of despatch (see 'Delivery options' for more details).
